Warming Apple Tea
This is what my family drinks whenever one of us has the flu, or if the weather gets to cold and our tummy's needing something warm and nourishing.
It all started when we were given a lot of apples at a hotel and couldn't possibly finish it all. We had no blender, and to be honest was starting to get sick of munching on apples every day. The apples were starting to lose its crunch, so my mother stewed all those apples and strained the water. We all drank that warm apple tea at night, and it was like a hug in a cup. Our tummy felt warm and cozy, and our body nourished.
This then become a tradition for whenever my dad caught the flu or if any one of us is feeling under the weather. It's a warm, soothing cup of vitamins when our tummy can't handle cold juices. The feeling we get after drinking a warm cup of apple tea is unlike no other. It's light and soothing- a cup's enough to keep our sneezes and snorts away for the night..
